Lesson: Don't be afraid of anything. Because G-d is with us. Realize that He is good, He loves us, and his intensions towards us are good. Because of this, we can completely trust him; therefore we can obey him even when we are afraid or anxious that we will not be provided for. Outline: First there is a census of the army and the organization of how the the tribes were to camp around the Tabernacle. Then it is a record of the journey from Mount Sinai to the borders of Canaan (the Promised Land) that took 40 years. It is divided into 3 sections: Preparation for the journey; Wilderness wanderings; and the journey to Canaan. Some Events: Grumbling about the manna, Miriam amd Aaron rebell against Moses, the spies and Israel's rebellion, the rebellion of Korach, Aaron's staff, Moses strikes the rock, the bronze serpent and Balaam blesses Israel instead of cursing them. |
